Five generations of the Hinton family
have been growing fruit in Central Otago since the first orchard
block was bought in 1910. The current owners of the business are
Nigel and Elisabeth Hinton who along with their son Howie and daughter-in-law,
Sarah Hinton - run the family business.
The orchards produce apricots, cherries, nectarines, peaches and plums. Hinton fruit can be found in local supermarkets
and fruit stores right throughout New Zealand, often packaged in
their trade mark
blue
boxes.
Central Otago fruit is well known for its superior quality, and a
large percentage of Hinton's fruit is exported under the brand C.V.
Exports (CVE) to markets in Taiwan, China, Australia, UK and the
USA.
